ABOUT THE MISS BLACK USA ORGANIZATION
The Miss Black U.S.A. Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, recognized under the 501(c)3 code of the Internal Revenue Service. It is the mission of the Miss Black U.S.A. Pagenat to provide educational opportunities to outstanding young women of color and to develop the “whole woman in mind, body and spirit.” The pageant was founded by Karen Arrington in 1986. The tradition continues more than twenty years later.
Talented and intelligent young women from all over the country will compete for the coveted crown of “Miss Black U.S.A.” But it goes way beyond the possession of a title, a crown, a scepter and prizes. It carries with it the dignity and responsibility of a woman who can make a difference and showcase her talents and enthusiasm into a voice for women of color throughout the nation. This may seem like pretty heady stuff, yet the fortunate winner of this competition will be chosen because it will be determined that she is up to the challenge. Could this be you?
