Areas of Competition:

The competition will consist of four equally weighted categories: Interview (25%), Sports wear (25%), Fashion wear (25%), Evening Gown (25%). The highest composite scores will determine the finalists. Finalists will answer a question on stage that is worth 10 bonus points. Bonus points will be added to the composite score already earned to determine the runners-up and winners.

Interview (25%)
Lady S.H.E. titleholders must be articulate with excellent social and conversational skills. Titleholders must be able to express themselves clearly, diplomatically, and must project a pleasant personality at all times. Competition details:
  • Interviews are conducted panel style. “Panel style” is similar to a press conference.
  • Delegate will introduce herself and field questions posed by the panel sitting in front of the judges panel.
  • The interview focuses primarily on delegates' personal information (e.g., hobbies, ambition, etc.) but may include opinion questions that require general knowledge of social and current events.
  • Delegates should wear a dress, cocktail suit, or pantsuit for the interview competition.
  • Judging criteria: conversational skill, personality, demeanor, beauty, grooming, and fashion sense.
Sportswear (25%)
Lady S.H.E. titleholders must be physically fit, with good muscle tone and body proportion. Lady S.H.E. titleholders must carry themselves with confidence and grace. Competition details:
  • Delegates will model a sport suit of her own choice.
  • Sport suit may have embellishments.
  • Sport wear must be in good taste.
  • A solid color sport wear is recommended, but not required.
  • Sneakers are recommended.
  • Shoes may be either white or may match the color of the sport suit.
  • Judging criteria: fitness, modeling, personality, beauty, grooming and fashion sense.
Fashion (25%)
Lady S.H.E. titleholders must be able to project their own personal sense of style. This segment will be conducted very much like a runway fashion show. Fashion attire can be anything the delegate feels represents a currently popular or stylish ensemble. Judges will be looking for high energy, spirit, and the delegate's sense of contemporary style for today's woman. Judges are not looking for a specific style or designer label but rather how well the attire suits the delegate (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as delegate’s on-stage presentation. Competition details:
  • Attire is dressy-casual and may be a dress or pants outfit.
  • Very casual attire (e.g., shorts, jeans, dockers) is not recommended.
  • Attire may be embellished with rhinestones, sequins or other decorative materials.
  • Delegates are encouraged to accessorize with earrings, jackets, hats, gloves, etc.
  • Accessories may be used as “props” for modeling.
  • Bare midriffs are acceptable but outfits must be tasteful and complement size and figure.
  • Attire should reflect the delegate’s personality and personal sense of style.
  • Judging criteria: modeling, personality, beauty, grooming and fashion sense.
Evening Gown (25%)
Lady S.H.E. titleholders must carry themselves with dignity, grace, poise and elegance. Judges are not evaluating the cost or designer label of the gown, but rather how well it suits the delegate (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as delegate's on-stage presentation. Competition details:
  • Evening gown must be floor length.
  • Teens are permitted to wear sophisticated, beaded gowns.
  • Judging criteria: modeling, personality, beauty, grooming and fashion sense.
