The mission of the Miss Black New York USA pageant is to honor:
- The woman who wants to make a difference in this difficult world in which we live.
- The woman who has that unique mix of beauty, intelligence and personality.
- The woman who exudes her own inner beauty and fashion sense.
- The woman who is a natural leader, who speaks convincingly about things that are vital to her and the world around her.
- The woman who is determined to see her dreams fulfilled by setting a positive example for young women of color.
- The woman who does not let adversity stand in the way of achievement.
- The woman who acknowledges her gifts and uses them in a positive, proactive manner.
